A Community Acupuncture Clinic located in Evanston Illinois

Acupuncture Access, LLC is a community acupuncture clinic located just north of Main Street in Evanston. Its primary mission is to help more fully integrate the use of acupuncture and complementary medicine in the community it serves by providing safe and effective acupuncture treatments in a relaxing group setting.

By keeping costs low, offering a sliding scale, and treating multiple patients in an hour in a community space, Acupuncture Access is able to fulfill its mission of providing acupuncture to everyday people with ordinary incomes and thereby helping raise the level of health and wellness in the community it serves.

Please see the rate page for details on the sliding scale. Pay what you can comfortably afford along the scale so that you can come often enough and get the frequency of treatment you need to get well and stay well.

During your first community acupuncture session, you’ll have your consultation in a private area and then be treated in a comfortable chair in a large soothing and quiet community room along with others. You provide a detailed health history on the forms you complete beforehand so that your acupuncturist can become familiar with your total health picture over the course of your work together. Following the brief intake that focuses on your main complaint, your acupuncturist will recommend a treatment plan, based on your individual situation.

Community acupuncture follow up consultations are done at treatment chair side. Your acupuncturist takes your pulse, looks at your tongue, and briefly checks in with you about your progress since the last treatment. Based on this information, the point selection is made and your needles are placed as you quietly relax in your chair. Talk is kept to a minimum so that you can get maximum treatment time and allow the needles to do their work.

Community style treatments make it possible for friends, or neighbors to have sessions together. A collective healing field is established which actually increases the benefits for each individual being treated. This is similar to the effect felt when attending any group event, whether it be a baseball game or a church service. It’s produced by the power of numbers of people being together with a common intent. In the case of a community acupuncture clinic - its to relax and heal.

Whether you have a chronic illness, come to the clinic because you need a boost to get you through a stressful time in life, or want to enhance your energy and performance, community acupuncture has something valuable to offer you. Many hands make the work light!

Acupuncture Access is a part of the Community Acupuncture Network (CAN), a grassroots national organization that aims to widen access to acupuncture by promoting a group treatment business model that is sustainable for both communities and practitioners.
